While blood transfusion has traditionally focused on blood products like red blood cells, platelets, and plasma, newer cellular therapies such as chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cell therapies are changing the face of treatment for multiple diseases. Vitalant Research Institute supports cellular therapy projects through generation of appropriate small animal models, providing building blocks for the cellular therapies, and by analyzing clinical samples from treated patients.
