The Vitalant Innovation Center (VIC) acts as a “sandbox” that facilitates development and validation of new products before implementation into a regulated environment within the blood center. A major focus of the VIC is Cell Sourcing products and services.  Under an IRB approved protocol blood products are collected from healthy donors for research use only.  Additionally, Cell Sourcing conducts contracted research activities related to beta testing of donor/patient screening devices and blood collection systems.
