Renata Buccheri is an infectious disease physician with extensive experience in HIV/AIDS and neglected diseases, particularly in underserved populations. Since 2020, she has been a part of Vitalant Research Institute, conducting studies focused on transfusion-transmitted infections, arboviruses, characterization of the human virome in transfused patients with sickle cell disease (SCD), and HIV treatment and pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP).
